The Office of the Secretary of Homeland Security issued an October Visa Bulletin to all foreign nationals who intend to travel to the United States this October. The bulletin was issued to coincide with the one-month anniversary of President Obama's Executive Order that banned entry from seven countries.
The bulletin states that foreigners intending to enter the United States for business purposes, pleasure or for any other purpose will not be permitted to do so. They are also not allowed to apply for an immigrant visa under the category of “business travelers.” This means that those intending to travel for an event such as a trade show must instead apply for a visitor visa, which can be obtained at the port of entry and not through the Department of State.
There is no information on whether or not a person who is attempting to enter the United States under the category of “business travelers” will be allowed to apply for an immigrant visa, and there is some doubt on whether or not this category will even exist in the future. One thing is for certain however, is that the travel restrictions put forth by the Department of Homeland Security are in place to ensure that terrorist organizations and other criminals do not gain access to the United States.
The Department of State has also taken the initiative of issuing a list of prohibited countries on their website. It also lists the countries where people can obtain a Visa or other immigration documents, but is no longer offering immigration information. In addition to the Visa Bulletin, this website has also published a new webpage that provides immigration and travel information.
Although the Department of State has made clear that individuals who plan to travel to the United States for business purposes will not be permitted to do so, they are still free to apply for a Visa. The reason is that the United States government has not given out any visas for travel in general to those countries. In fact, the State Department has put forth the requirement that individuals must have a valid business reason for traveling to the United States before they are granted the visa.
Those who plan to travel on business are still able to do so but they must take advantage of the October Visa Bulletin. Anyone who is trying to enter the United States under the category of “business traveler” will not be able to apply for an immigrant visa through the Department of State. They must instead apply for a visitor visa at the port of entry and obtain the necessary paperwork at the local US consulate.
There are still some travel websites out there that have published travel articles for October that provide travel and immigration information. However, it is best to avoid their articles altogether, as many of the articles they publish could be misleading, and they do not have information on every aspect of immigration related issues.
If you need to find immigration information for October, it is best to consult with a professional immigration attorney or agency. While the Department of State may have updated its website, it is highly recommended that you speak to an attorney in the field of immigration if you are uncertain about anything pertaining to your specific situation.
Some people may not need to obtain a visa to visit the United States in October. For instance, students attending college in the United States for the first time will not need to obtain a visa. This is because students are usually considered immigrants. This means that if a student is not required to have a visa to enter the United States, then the student will not need to obtain one to return to the United States once he or she leaves.
However, if you do require a visa, you will still need to apply for one by submitting a request to the Department of State via mail. After receiving your Visa application form, you will need to send it back with all necessary documentation.
