A credit card or primary card account number is the particular card identification number found on credit cards, including credit cards issued by banks and other financial institutions and stored-value cards and prepaid cards. The card's card holder may obtain a visa card number through an online service of a travel agency. The card is also issued through a special machine that reads the visa card and then processes and confirms the payment. At this stage, a confirmation is sent to the issuing bank for processing.
If a person is applying for a visa card, he/she can apply online or at an authorized outlet. In most cases, however, it is more convenient to apply online since the applicant has the advantage of being able to compare the various types of visa card. Also, there are no formal documents to be submitted to the issuing bank as an applicant for a visa card. The person applying must provide the following documents:
o The applicant's name, date of birth, gender and passport or driving license number are required to verify identity. o The applicant's social security number must also be verified to ensure that the person is eligible to receive the visa card.
o An applicant's passport or driving license number must also be verified. o Other necessary documents that should be submitted are proof of employment and a copy of the applicant's recent income tax return, along with the copies of the applicant's bank statements and pay stubs. o The person must also submit a completed application form.
Once approved, a person will be issued a Visa card through the Internet portal of the agency that issued the card, usually called a web portal. A Visa card can then be used for purchasing airline tickets, hotel accommodations, dining, transportation, and other services.
The card holder is given a certain amount of time, generally 30 days, to use the Visa card in person. After that time, the card holder must visit the issuer's website and request for a new card. The card is valid until the expiry date, which depends on the card issuer. and can only be renewed by submitting new information, which must include the new information that has been obtained by the applicant.
A person can renew a visa card at any authorized online site. This is called the renewal option. A cardholder can apply for a new card, using the same application form as was used to apply for a new card. Renewal information is usually sent via email.
A person's credit history will not affect his/her eligibility to obtain a Visa card. However, it is important to keep the card current, as it may be withdrawn and credit may not be accepted at ATM machines.
